4th Annual Dierk Rambali Soccer Marathon

2012 Soccer Marathon raised $12,000!

2012's marathon has been the most successful one yet!! We reached our goal of $12,000, which could not have been done without the help and participation of all the players, volunteers and sponsors. All $12,000 has been donated to The Central Alberta Cancer Foundation here in Red Deer in hopes that one day all local cancer patients will be able to receive all their treatments here instead of having to drive to Edmonton or Calgary.

Lets Talk Dierk

Taken away from his family and friends at 41. My co-hort in soccer, my coach and my friend. I remember him most for his infectious smile.  His charismatic nature made him new friends wherever he went. His passion in life was soccer. Playing it most of his life. Coaching came naturally, as he knew the game inside and out. He knew exactly how  the game could and should be played. And broke it down into the simplest steps. I think I will always hear him, in my head while I play. "just jockey, easy passes, shield the ball, control it, look up, pass to feet". I hope he will always stay there. Continuing to coach me although he is not here.  Dierk made a difference in my life. I will always be grateful for that. And he will always remain in a place in my heart.

Dr. Seuss said it well, "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."

I miss that smile.
